PRETTY PEACH AND APPLE GREEN WEDDING INSPIRATION

What do you get when you combine pretty pastel blooms, a sprinkling of English summer rain, a musical theatre actress bride, a music lover groom and Yellow Bird Photography behind the lens?
Jo and Jimmy’s AWESOME wedding, that’s what!
Their DIY garden wedding at Bignor Park was such a beautiful, creative and personal affair filled with love, laughter, marryoke* and utterly fabulous florals.
Including big, fluffy, hydrangea bouquets, hanging jars of ‘freshly picked’ arrangements suspended above the reception tables, pure white roses threaded through a side swept braided hairstyle and Jo’s exquisite Claire Pettibone wedding gown in full bloom.
As I was reading Jo’s lovely (and super detailed) write up of their day I found myself smiling, laughing and tearing up a little.
Yes, I know I’m a soppy romantic but just you wait till you see the love poem they wrote together for their wedding ceremony! view more
I love this bride’s style. From her short and chic rose lace dress to her twisted, messy side chignon hairstyle, black patent Armani heels and statement Art Deco onyx earrings.
Her bouquet was wrapped in stripes and filled with lisianthus, small white roses and berries which were spray painted black to match the rest of her outfit!
Natalie, I salute you. And Stefan you looked perfectly dapper too!
Natalie and Stefan’s Sydney Open Back Dresses was ‘just so them’. They omitted traditions that didn’t suit them (no bridal party or first dance) and incorporated new traditions such as the bride vs the pinata! They described their wedding as ‘fun, perfect and amazing’.
Just take a look at these beautiful photos by Origami Creatives and you’ll see why.view more
Is there anything more awesome than a bride with a bow and arrow?
Actually, yes. Throw in a noble steed, a gorgeous lace gown, thistle flower crowns and an amazing astilbe floral cuff. (Kick ass brides can’t carry their bow, arrow and a bouquet, after all!)
I adore this styled shoot from With Love & Embers Photography. It was inspired by the legendary English love story between Robin Hood and Maid Marian.
(Cue that epic Bryan Adams song and a montage of sweeping shots of Sherwood Forest, Kevin Costner releasing arrows of fire and Maid Marian sporting a dodgy perm.)
Couples planning relaxed, woodsy weddings, lovers of soft pinks paired with gorgeous greens plus fans of The Hunger Games and Disney Pixar’s ‘Brave’ – this one’s for you!
Sorry for missing a couple of days worth of wedding loveliness last week – I’m actually writing this post from Miami, USA – the first stop on some rather exciting travels ahead over the next year!
Truth be told, things got a little crazy the last couple of weeks – what with packing up our rented London flat, saying goodbye (again) to friends and family, and Rufus!!! then heading to Amsterdamfor a week for Zee’s business, heading back to London for ‘one night only’, then straight onto a 10 hour flight – that turned into 13. And finally arriving in Florida to torrential rain and an apartment with the worst wifi connection EVER.*
So it transpired that I took an impromptu break…but now it’s time to kick off a brand new week of wedding awesomeness!

Forget peaches and cream – today’s board is all about peaches and green!
